The cost of registering a trademark is not a single item. The total is made up of the official fees paid to TÜRKPATENT plus the attorney's service fee; the official fees depend on the number of classes and the action requested, and they are reset every year. The articles in this category break the items apart so that you can see what is and is not included when you compare quotes.

We also cover the side of the cost that can be reduced and accounted for: the conditions under which KOSGEB and other public support schemes can be used for trademark registration, how filing costs are recorded in the accounts, and how a trademark is treated as an intangible asset. Always check the schedule in force for current fee amounts; in these articles the structure of the items matters as much as the figures.

Three variables drive the total: how many classes the application covers, the examination differences that come with the type of mark, and any additional actions that arise during the process. Opposition to publication, appeal against a refusal, a letter of consent or an assignment each carry their own official fees and are not included in the initial filing price, so when you compare quotes ask which of these items are excluded. Because protection then runs in ten-year terms, factoring in the renewal fee from the start is the only way to budget a trademark at its real cost.
